"Joseph" was a magnificently melodious whirlwind adventure as the Biblical saga of Joseph came to vibrant life in this unique musical parable.

Created by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, and brought to you today by PRIMA, the history of Joseph is a curious one, inasmuch as it has developed from a twenty minute cantata for schools into a full length musical.

Joseph is the favourite son of Jacob, father of Israel. He is blessed with prophetic dreams and when it becomes clear that Joseph’s future is to be one of greatness, his jealous brothers sell him into slavery, and unknowingly also into a series of remarkable adventures through which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.

Thanks to the intervention of Egypt’s finest citizens (including a Pharoah wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis) Joseph and his brothers eventually learn much of the blessings of family, faith and forgiveness.

Set to a cornucopia of musical styles from western, calypso and jazz, to bubble-gum pop and rock’n’roll, the Old Testament tale of Joseph’s adventures in Egypt emerges both timely and timeless.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" was the largest amateur theatre production seen in the Pine Rivers area to date. It was the first major production from PRIMA who until recently have been wowing audiences throughout the Shire with their theatre restaurant performances. Featuring an on-stage cast of 58, and the exceptional talents of Director - Gordon Ball, and Musical Director - Mark Beilby, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will be a milestone for musical theatre in the Pine Rivers Shire.

Jordan Pollard featured as Joseph. Jordan was the recent winner of the "Westfield Strathpine Superstars Talent Quest”, and is currently studying voice at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Melissa Beilby appeared as Narrator. She brings 23 years of international theatrical experience to her role.

Supported by the polished vocal harmonies that make PRIMA stand out from the rest, this show was one not to be missed.
